Annual Watermelon Festival
Hot summer, cool melons – Saturday, August 12 and Sunday August 13 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm is the Annual Watermelon Festival. Admission and parking for this event are FREE. Come on down to the Watermelon Festival for some good ole family fun! Watermelon season is short but sweet, come bite into a juicy slice of summer.
The Tanaka Farms Grill Shack will be creating some amazing watermelon eats and drinks along with summer BBQ meals. Also enjoy the Roasted Corn Bar and a Baked Potato Bar. Visit local vendors, take in a cooking demo, play some games, and sample some summer produce. All featured produce is in the Market Stand to take home your favorites. Summer crops are at their peak, call (949) 653-2100 ext. 203 to check current availability.
There will also be a mini petting zoo on Saturday and puppies to pet on Sunday. Bring the family and enjoy games, ATV rides, the Big Digger, crafts, and face painting. I’d like to check out the watermelon seed spitting contest. Admission is FREE, Grill Shack and activities are priced separately.
Through the end of August, enjoy a 1.25 hour guided wagon ride around the farm. You’ll taste seasonal veggies, end in a melon tasting tent, and go home with a hand-picked melon picked fresh that morning. Tours run every half hour starting at 9:30 am until 2:30 pm, no reservations required. Tour cost is $18 per person and children 2 and under are FREE.
